About The Photographer

West Texas photographer Richard Acosta has traveled all around the Lone Star State capturing stunning images of the natural beauty of Texas and its night skies.

His breathtaking images have been featured in galleries, public buildings, and publications all across the State.  His art has been featured in the Odessa City Hall Chambers, Ellen Noel Art Museum, Arts Council Midland, and in a number of collaborations with Odessa Arts.  Richard was also named the best photographer in the Odessa American Reader’s Choice, placed in the Texas Photographic Society’s Listening to the Land Show, placed photos in the Ellen Noel Art Museum’s open show multiple years, and won first place in the Arts Council Midland’s first open show. Richard has had two of his own shows at Arts Council Midland and will have a third spring of 2023.

Richard’s love and passion for the night sky landed him a feature story in the Washington Post’s collection of stories called “A Christmas gift: Stories of the quest for connection” under “Confession with the universe” (12/23/20).

One of Richard’s West Texas Sunset photos was gifted to the President of the United States when he came through West Texas on a fundraising tour.
